Ever Wonder What One Person Can Do?

I very seldom cross post between the two blogs. They're very different. I made an exception for the 4th of July and I'm making another one here.

This is not a plea for money. It's just something I'd never heard of before and it seems like something simple that would accomplish a lot. I'm posting it as information; nothing more.

I'm glad you linked to your other blog--I'm adding it to our links.

I love the idea that the play pump is dual purpose and brings joy to kids as well as clean water.

I also really, really like the linked to bloggers writing style. He's not shying away from serious issues and I think BB needed a bit of that to balance all the shopping tips and lighter content.

What an amazing concept, kids having fun and pumping water at the same time - that's the first I had heard of it also. ec

Sounds like it would work well ... both ideas that is.

What a great idea! It does sound as though it may work!

Very often I see the problem that they speak of on Discovery Channel. The women having to walk miles and miles for water. Also the walk to school for those who are fortunate enough to go is no joke either.

That is sooo neat! I love the idea.

I've read that potable water is a bigger issue than food. Just last night on the news, they repoted about a Canadian nurse-practitioner working in a Central American native community. One of the main wells was proven to contain arsenic and it looked pretty rank in other ways too. But people still sometimes drank from it. Good wells can change the lives of whole villages.
