Good Morning

Harry Potter was a fizzle. By the time we arrived a little before 7 last night, it was over. I took them for Happy Meals instead.

I'm on my way out the door for the first of month major shopping. At least I won't melt along the way. It's much cooler.

I've heard from friends in PA and CT that they're expecting extreme temps today. My sympathies. Drink plenty of water and be careful.

Anyhow just saying hi for now. I'll try to get back later.

Mollie. Haven't said a thing about the Giants lately because we've lost the last 8 in a row.

Take care everyone.

Years ago we had a Harry Potter birthday party at home with friends. I let the kids pick out foods from the book. I remember that we made some sort of chicken pie that came out well and treacle (molasses) fudge that was a sticky mess.

It was fun though.

We just got a temp drop too, down to mid -80s, last week it was in the 100s...crazy weather. ;-)

Hi Ann ~~ Glad it is cooler for you
especially when you had to shop.
Thanks for the message on my blog.
Take care, Hugs, Merle.

We're loving the cooler weather too!
Don't shop till you drop :-)

We usually get your weather later so hopefully we'll be cool too.
We are so unused to the heat that most of us don't know how to deal with it. I learnt a few tips in the South of France which are useful eg if you must use the stove when you have finished put on a pan of cold water to absorb the heat.

They're forecasting a high of 101 here in western KY today, too...

Sorry you missed Harry's birthday. It probably would have been fun. But Happy Meals are a fun treat, too. We'll probably do that this weekend, as a last hurrah before school starts next week.

Hmmm what did you do, send the hot temps over here to Canada??? lol Right now it's 105F here with the humidex...I have an air conditioner but I feel sorry for those who don't! I went out for about 5 minutes to water some flowers and had to hurry back in, I couldn't take that heat! Remember, we're not used to that!! I don't know how you handled it for so long. "Hugs" Ann, hope your shopping went well:-)

granny, it's 101 in Cherry Hill NJ...
the "heat index" even higher.

I woke up early and made gingersnaps (homemade) when it was still dark (and relatively cool) outside.

the cookies are yummy, but firing up the oven in this weather is a real judgement call.

Glad things are cooling off your way. We've been under a heat advisory and warning for the last four days. It's supposed to rain tomorrow and cool things off for us.

Sorry you missed the Harry Party, but I'm sure the girls loved Mickey D's. On these hot days, I've been taking mine for just 50 cent cones. :D Yum!

Glad you have a cooler temp. Read in other blogs about some deaths due to extreme heat. Here in my country, we have been experiencing a series of typhoons the past weeks. Good thing, no loss of lives and properties have been recorded.

Have a nice Wednesday! Btw, I am visiting via Friday's Child.

That was a pitty you didnt arrive on time at least you had happy meals. Shopping...I'd love to do that. It relieves you from stress. Yes I've heard about the heat wave.....that's terrible! A 100 temperature, I guess that would be in fahreinheit. That would be around 38deg.Cent. here in our place. We reached that high during the first months of our summer season. I guess here we don't call that heat wave as people are used to the heat. We only have 2 seasons the dry and wet. Now we are coming to the wet season. We've had rains for the past few weeks.
Thanks for passing by.

I just don't see what they enjoy about the Happy Meal, but if they like them (and my 'grands' do) I guess I'll keep buying. We had temp extremes today and expecting them for tomorrow and maybe the next day. We did get a somewhat unexpected shower this afternoon - afterwards it was like a sauna. ec

I'm glad it has cooled down up there. I spoke with my mom who is in NY and she said it was over 100. She had locked herself in her room and turned on the A/C.

We've cooled down here for this week atleast that is what they said but today was a bit warm even though those weather sites claimed it was 78. That's garbage

Hi Granny, I'm glad it has cooled down for you. All that hot weather must have been terrible. Sorry I haven't been by lately. But, I'm back.
Hope you are well.
Take care, meow

I'm glad it's cooler out your way, we have the heat now. It got up to 100 today (that I saw) and the heat index was up in the 110's. It was 91 at 8:30 when I went to my cousins, it's pretty extreme considering that most of the time 90 is hot around here.

Hi Ann,

Too bad about the Harry Potter party, but the happy meals are always a good treat.

I hope you are enjoying the cooler weather as much as I am. Isn't it nice to do such a normal thing as shopping with out having to deal with the awful heat?

Anyway, hi and talk to you later.

Its been in the high 90's here...with the heat and humidity feels like 105 or so.
Awful.
I've had to keep the girls in the house since Saturday.
We may get out and go to the store today...the dollar store.
(since money is pretty tight too! lol)
