Ray isn't hanging around the emergency room - he's in a room with a bed. I talked to him twice today (now a little after 11 pm Thursday) but haven't been over there. I woke up with what I thought might be the beginning of a cold or some other bug and decided better to stay away. I'll get there tomorrow. He understands and there's no point passing on whatever I might have had which I now think was just a bad air day here and not contagious at all.
And Rochelle was sick Wednesday night and out of school today. She was fine by later in the day and so was I.
My bedroom t.v. did something weird yesterday and Ray's the only one who knows how to fix it. I booted the girls out of the living room (bedtime anyway) so I could watch at 9 and 10 yesterday and today. I never made it to 10 before I was asleep on the couch. Problem - I woke up at midnight last night and 11 tonight. Last night I was awake off and on most of the night; I hope tonight is better. I'll try again in my own bed in a few minutes.
I met Tim for lunch yesterday, ran a couple of errands, picked up Rebecca from the bus stop, and came back home. I've done what was necessary but not much else. At least with older kids, they're somewhat independent. Dinner was simple and so was cleanup. They helped with other things and no one had much homework for a change.
We don't know yet what's happening with Ray - maybe by tomorrow. I'd like him to be home for the weekend but I'd be surprised if that happened.
This has to be the most boring post ever - I'm even boring myself. Tomorrow is major shopping day after the girls have left for school. Not too bad this month; I'm low on cereal and the usual dry goods (toilet paper and laundry detergent always) but I bought cat food and a couple of other things earlier this week so I won't have as much lugging tomorrow.
I think I'm getting sleepy again or so I hope. I'll try to find something more exciting to report by tomorrow but don't count on it. The girls' candy sales start tomorrow and I'm too tired to even do my usual rant on school fundraisers that involve door to door sales. I think I'll pass on it this year and send a small donation to the PTA instead. They'll make just as much as they would from the small amount of money they keep from the sales
Now I know I've been around a year. I bet I was ranting about candy last year at this time.
I'm way behind on reading your blogs but I'll catch up. I've had problems focusing on reading yesterday and today; one of the things that makes me believe it's air quality that's bothering me more than a cold.
Thanks again for the good wishes. I'm feeling sleepy again - probably a good thing. It's warm but not hot so I should be okay. Forecast mid 70's (F) this weekend with possible rain which will clear the air.
Take care all and good night.

Normally I would have detailed the menu including dipping my fortune cookie into my tea and everything else into the sweet and sour sauce. We had a great time didn't we.
And I didn't mention my 800 calorie drink from Barnes & Noble - at least I gave half of it to Rebecca.
Hello Ann ~ I hope that you didn't develop a cold or anything. Hope they soon come up with some answers for Ray.
Sorry you have trouble sleeping some nights, because you are always on the go and need that sleep. I hope your shopping went OK, it can be quite a chore. Great to hear the girls do a share of the work for you. And you will
never be boring. Take care, my friend,
Merle.
Glad to hear Ray is finally settled in a room. Now they can get down to the business of making him better, or at least figuring out the problem.
Hopefully you're not ill, although I truly can't comprehend breathing air that's so bad it can make you sick. That's totally outside my realm of thinking.
Glad to hear Ray is NOT in the ER but rather safe and sound in a hospital bed. Sorry to hear about the insomnia, nothing worse when you are too tired. Hoping you got some better sleep post-blogging.
I want to be relieved that you don't have a cold...but bad air quality is not better. At least it isn't contagious so you don't have to worry about giving somethign to Ray.
Glad he got a bed...really hoping they make him well now.
Gosh, hope you aren't coming down with something. Good luck with getting some sleep ... hope you manage some.
Hope things are getting better for Ray ... what a worry.
Take care, Meow
Hi Ann, hope your sleep pattern is a little better, lack of sleep seems to be a thing that happens when one is so emotionally overloaded. I do hope things will all improve for you and yours in every way. Thanks for comments on my site when you have so much on your plate.Thinking of you Margaret
hope things pick up in a good way, you sound kinda flat. i love the 70 degree range, one of my all time fav's for sure its still hot here, high 80's. i hate that but at least its cooling off at night
I hope he is home for the weekend as well!
And nothing is more irritating than insomnia.
Hi Ann,
Hope you're feeling better. The air quality has been nasty here too. Very thick and hazy! We're supposed to be in the 80's this weekend.
Glad Ray is settled in and they can get to the business of diagnosing.
Take care of yourself...
Both of my boys got some type of bug. It seem like when school get going something comes around in bug form.
Take care.
sounds like you need some TLC!!!
(((hugs)))
I hope Ray gets to feeling better.
I had a great-uncle who lived in your hometown. He was a real Republican (not like me).
Thanks for visiting my blog, Granny.
Hate those stupid fundraisers.
Do they have a grocery delivery service for seniors in your area? Maybe you could save yourself a trip or two every week.
Hope Ray's better soon, hope you get some good sleep in, too.
Well, thank goodness Ray is not hanging around in ER anymore. Took long enough though, didn't it?
I know what you mean by the air quality. When I was living in the city, sometimes you could almost cut the air with a knife it was so thick with pollutants. One of the reasons I moved to a semi-rural property.
Hope you have a refreshing sleep tonight. We don't want you coming down with something nasty.
Take care
Robyn
I'm catching up too. I'm glad that Ray was finally admitted, but the wait is hard to fathom. Rest well.
You need to come to Northern Ontario where our air is so clear and cold, it'll cure anything! lol We had heavy frost this morning and it didn't go much higher than 46 today! Glad to hear that Ray has a room and hopefully they'll be able to find out soon what is wrong. You take good care of yourself, it's very easy to get rundown when you have such a busy life! Hugs!
Ann, boring is part and parcel of 'life'. Although having to wait on Ray's results makes it a good thing for your life not to be too exciting right now..we're thinking of you (as you can tell). We are all hoping that you'll feel better soon and that Ray will be home soon as well, don't even think of coming to any of our blogs until that's all done with, it's not like we have good news to report these days!!
hugs
Ingrid
I'll be keeping you & your family in my prayers. Try & get some rest!
((((hugs))))
will be thinking about you and your family. Hope ray soon gets well.
Hi Ann,
I've been meaning to check back to see how Ray has been doing for the last couple of days, but I've been a little busy with some writing.
I hope the doctors have an answer for you soon on Rays contition, and I'm sorry he had to be hospitalized yet again.
Hang in there, and try to get some rest.
Janice~
you keep so darn busy, i don't know how you do it!
I am behind on reading blogs too. Life just gets in the way at times doesn't it? Hope you feel better this week and things calm down just a tad for you. Take care.
Hope ray's doing well. How are you feeling???????????
