Update on Ray

I meant to write this yesterday but I came home and fell asleep. Then I just forgot although I did answer some comments and email.

I was in Modesto by around 10:30 yesterday. He was awake and somewhat alert but still in considerable discomfort (read pain). He was glad to see us though. Turned out he'd been worrying about me while I was worrying about him. Now we both feel better.

I don't know how long he'll stay in the CVICU. Hopefully he'll be transferred soon. I figure about a five day stay altogether if all goes well and then home. Poor guy - he ate two real dinners here (from my new stove) before he went to the hospital and hasn't seen the house at all since I have it pretty much in order. You know more about it from my pictures than he does and I've done a lot more organizing since I took the pics. He won't be able to find anything.

We had our rain on Saturday but not too much. The storms seemed to stop at the Fresno county line. Fresno and Tulare counties, both further south, had flood warnings.

Thanks to all of you for your kindness. To the couple of you without a blog or email address, I'm thanking you here.

Take care everyone.

Sounds like things are progressing well :)
My father in law spent two weeks in the hospital after his bypass surgery.
They've made such great strides since then!
Take care of yourself

Hope Ray does really really well...My brother had triple By-Pass about 6 years ago...He has done extremely well...! The rain here was heavy for a sghort time and then light and then...gone! It surely wasn't enough, but better than none.

I am glad to hear Ray seems to be doing OK. My dad had quadruple bypass surgery around 15 years ago, he was only in his 50's at the time. Now he is healthier than he ever was.
We are having summer weather here in VT.

Thinking of you both. We don't often stop to think of the time when surgery of this kind wasn't possible.

Life is, indeed, a great gift. I think that, on a Universal level, one of the greatest ways we can give that gift back is to continue to learn how to preserve life.

Yay to the surgeon.

The time my dad was in ICU after his open heart was the most difficult time of all. You'll feel so much better when he has passed that hurdle and moved into a regular room. Keeping you both in my thoughts...

Been thinking about you and keeping you in my prayers.
My dad had quadruple bypass about 15, 16 years ago. A couple months later, he married a woman younger than I am, and is still hanging in there. He just turned 90 in May. Said it made him a new man! Modern medicine is so amazing! Lucky he is in a good place and will be patched up for you! I am sure he will be happy to get home and have everything ready!

So glad he's okay! I'm pleased that Ray is through the surgery and I agree with kinnicchick: it will all get better after he gets out of the ICU.
Do take care.

You rest all you can while he's in the hospital. It will do both of you good to get that rest. He'll be so happy to see all that you've done when he gets home.

Glad to hear Ray is doing better. I hope the bypass does the trick and he'll be done with hospital stays. I will be keeping both of you in my thoughts, and hoping for Ray's recovery to continue smoothly.

Two of the best cures I've ever found were home cooking, and love. Hugs to you both!

As well as Ray seems to be doing he should be home in no time. He'll be searching for all his "stuff" you've organized before you know it. ;D

Love and hugs,

Diane

dear Ann ~~ So very glad the worst is over and hope the pain soon eases for Ray. He will be home before too long and then you can both relax and enjoy
your new home and life. No wonder you went to sleep after all the worry and after the trip. Love and prayers for you both. Merle.

Hi Granny, hope Ray does well, and I echo the words of others, hell be back home before you know it.
We have had really freaky weather in the UK here, tornadoes, these are virtually unknown!
Glad to see one of the jokes I posted made u smile, dont feel too joke-y today though, back at work after a long weekend!

Hi Ann ~~ Good news with the bypass, it appears the worst is over and Rays health hopefully will now improve leaps and bounds, given time. I trust you’re soon both able to recuperate from the stressful events of the recent past and enjoy your new abode and life to gether with much improved health.
Best wishes

Wow - we have been in Texas and am just now catching up with blogs - so glad Ray is doing well and hope for a full recovery. Like you say, this may be the answer to his health issues. My Spice had a double by-pass in '01 and came through it well. ec
