Southern California Fires (cross posted)

Again from Emily and Cooper.

These two women started blogging as a response to Katrina by establishing a clearing house for information. Their blog has evolved into a political forum with the primary focus on women's and children's issues (although they write about other things as well).

Now they're involved in a group on The Motherhood (to which I belong) which is serving as a clearing house for those interested in helping the people of Southern California.

You can find the link to The Motherhood on their blog.

What a wonderful group this is....And they sure do a lot of needed care that would not be addressed without them. I am glad you are a part of them, too!
Thanks for the "heads Up"....!

It's heart warming to know there are still so many good folk out there, thanks for pointing me towards them. Hope all is well with you and yours, as Mary says, you are a great inspiration to all of us. (x)

Dear Ann ~~ Bless you and all the others who help out in a time of need
I hope the fires are being contained
as there has been so much damage already and lives lost, apart from so many homes destroyed. Carmen seems to be holding her own. Is Ray home yet, or still in hospital. Look after yourself dear friend, Love, Merle.

Hi Ann ~~ Good work.
I heard on our news the fires have abated and most were returning home, to face the devastation. These Fires seem to have been the worst ever?

Trust all is well with you and your family

Best wishes

Thanks for stopping by....
Anout The Gish Sisters?...Sublime! Lillian gish was not only a superb actress, but she was a lovely generous spirit, too. Her sister, was a wonderful actress as well. She was the guest speaker at my graduation from Drama School. They were rare women and everything about them reflected the times they grew up in. They represented 'The Best' of those rimes, I think.

Thanks for your vist dear GA....it is true what you said...the contrast is startling in a way and it certainly gives you a clearer view of the secondary effects of these fires. I am deeply grateful that the smoke is the worst of my experience here....!

Explanation: the Santa on your side bar suddenly bellowed at me and I jumped out of my skin:)
