How Did I Manage This?

cash advance

I've been trying to post a lovely video from YouTube but either YouTube or Blogger isn't cooperating. Maybe I can get it on over the weekend. While I'm at it, thanks to Karen H. for the Community Blogger Award. My other project for the weekend is to add buttons to my sidebar. It's not that I can't do it; I can but silly blogger gets cranky.

Right now it's double spacing between paragraphs.

Aha!! It's fixed. I think. No, it isn't.

I'm looking forward to a quiet weekend. My friend Janet brought me some of these persimmons from her tree today. She tells me they're milder and sweeter than the usual persimmons and they can be peeled and eaten like an apple. I'm looking forward to trying them.

CALIFORNIA FUYU (Oku Gosho?):

Medium, round with a slight point, orange to deep red-orange color, sporadic male blossoms, often seedy, non-astringent, firm-ripe.
I ran into Jim's oldest child today at Barnes & Noble. Samantha turned 18 in July, is working, going to Junior College here in town, and has a Driver's License. She's as sweet and beautiful as ever. I know it was just yesterday that she was born. Where does the time go?

Not a lot going on. Ray continues to improve and the girls were doing well when I spoke to Rebecca a couple of days ago. Perhaps they'll call tonight.

Our morning temperatures are supposed to drop to right above freezing around Thanksgiving. Brrr!! At least we don't have snow. I have our summer clothes put up and our winter clothing sorted, washed, and on hangars. We'll be needing the warm sweats before long.

And I've been cooking more "comfort food" as the weather cools. Tonight was just soup, sandwich, and yogurt because I was a little late getting home but tomorrow I'll do better.

I think I've finally caught up with most of you even if I didn't comment on all. Thanks to all of you for your comments and have a good weekend.

Hi Ann,
I just went outside to try & get a picture of the moon and it's very nippy. I did this test for my blog and it also came by genius. Can't imagine why it would..
Glad Ray continues to improve.
Take care!

Isn't lovely to see one's grandchildren and greats as well, grow up into such lovely human beings?

My blog was rated at Elementary School Level...huh, it wasn't even there long enough to read it properly (sniffs, miffed).

Cold? No thanks. It's not really hot enough here yet and it's over halfway through November. Crazy weather!

Um, my blog is Junior High School level. Hmph!

I love the wild persimmons that grow around here, but I've never eaten a cultivated one.

Glad you're all doing well, and hope you have a great weekend, Ann. ;o)

Love and hugs,

Diane

Well, I scored Elementary School level. I'm improving.

My editor shows double spacing sometimes, but when I post it, it's single spaced. The other thing it does is change my font to HUGE letters, but again, once I post it, it's normal. That's more than I can say for Blooger in general.

I want to thank you for your kind support during the last week. It was treasured, believe me!

I made a large dinner a few weeks ago to celebrate the weather cooling off and being able to use the oven again without turning my whole apartment into an oven.
I can't even imagine the Pea turning 18, but I am sure when I get there it will feel just like a moment. Dang kids for growing up anyway.

I'm also cooking more comfort food as the cold weather sets in. We had snow today and it has accumulated a bit on the roofs of houses and cars. A sign of things to come.

I enjoyed my visit, as always.

Blessings,
Mary

Good Evening Granny,
Wouldn't you know it, my blog is Elementary School Level. Hmmm, makes me wonder now what kind of level my brain is. LOL. I guess cause I'm new to blogging and still have lots to learn maybe? LOL. You are most welcome for the award. You truly deserve it. I'm not posting tonight. I will either post tomorrow or Monday. I'm going to share a recipe that I made up and fixed for mine and hubby's supper. He made it home Friday evening about 5:15p.m. Well, take care my friend and have a Blessed Sunday. God Bless You and Yours.

Hugs,
Karen H.

Dear Ann ~~ Congrats on the Blog's
reading level. A genius amongst us !! Glad that Ray is doing well and that the girls, Rebecca in particular ring you often. Thanks for your comments about Steve Irwin. I can see the use of spreadsheets in business and some fields, but not for me. Take care my friend, Love, Merle.

I also have an award waiting to be added and my grand-daughter tells me she can do it from home if I give her personal details which I'm happy to do if I can remember them . I always have difficulty in getting the right user name because it seems to vary according to what I'm doing.

Yes, blogger keeps freezing up on me too. I hit it yesterday. Sometimes works. So does going off for a cup of tea and coming back later. Hey ho. Don't give up, though!

Hi again Ann ~ Neither of us like the extreme weather. The very hot and very cold are hard to take. BTW Your
oatmeal for breakfst sounds good to me. Take care, dear friend, Love, Merle.

Hi Granny!

You haven't caught on me because I haven't written a darn thing in over three weeks. Oops. But I figured I would check on how everyone is doing before I start posting again. It's far more enjoyable to read what you have to say than think of what I'm going to say ;)

Have a great day!
