Bedtime - And I Really Mean I t This Time

The girls are all safely home and asleep. Rochelle and her friend spent the morning doing a "makeover" and Rochelle came home looking like that strange woman from the Drew Carey show (without the blonde hair). They obviously had a wonderful time but she didn't give me any argument when I told her she could keep it on in the house but not leave wearing it all. She trotted right in and washed her face. Some of the glitter is still there but the eyeshadow is gone.

They've been enjoying their last day before the tests. We had our picnic in the back yard. Hamburgers and hot dogs, all the nutritional stuff. They loved it.

And the laundry is put away (although I have another load in the dryer), drawers are sorted out, and much of the winter clothing is put up. I'll tackle the summer clothes tomorrow now that I have a place to put them.

Short tonight - slow day.

Baseball:
Sorry, Mollie, we have to let them win one once in a while. Oshee warned me about their pitcher. She was right.

Good night.

Girls and makeup, sigh...

My three year old carries a Bonnie Bell Lip gloss around with her all the time. She wants to look "stylish" (yes, she is three and uses the word "stylish"!). I often wonder how a physicist and a computer geek managed to produce a fashionista. Genetics are a strange thing...

Hi Ann,
Just wanted to say thanks for your swift answers to my comments, and always to my email. You know, it never occurs to me to answer people via Email ... must try it, particularly when the comment is a question or something. Thanks again. Hope you are having a great sleep, and a great week ahead. Take care, Meow

I had to laugh outloud at your description of the "make over". Oh how I remember wearing make up for the first time. The description was pretty much the same for me as well!! It took numerous tries before my mother let me leave the house "with my make up" on. Too funny! What a memory!

I remember getting the seasonal clothes out was so much fun when I was a kid. We tried everything on to see what fit, passed the clothes that didn't fit to other sibblings or cousins. In turn, we got some of their clothes to try on and keep. We always got a few new clothes, but mostly were hand me downs, which I never frowned at, they were a blessing and we found it very exciting.

When I was little I would dress up in my mother's old house dresses and wear her heels. I would walk into the room and introduce myself to my mother. I would make up a last name like Smith, and I would request that my mother refer to me as Mrs. Smith.

I love makeovers! Makeup and hair can be so fun. Especially at that age.
