Too Hot to Sleep

So I got back up, took another cool bath, washed my sweaty head one more time, and am sitting in front of the fan with a glass of cold water.

Still nothing new with Ray. I haven't decided whether to go to San Francisco tomorrow. My son has to work which means I'll be driving and taking the two younger girls along. Elcie would rather stay here.

I'll decide when I wake up (if I ever go to sleep, that is. If you don't hear from me tomorrow, assume I went. I may stay over now that my son isn't going and come back early Monday.

Meantime, I found this at adoption blogs.

It's a great site, written by all manner of people who have anything to do with adoption.

My line spacing is looking very peculiar. If it comes out this way on the post, I won't try to fix it. It probably has something to do with the copy and paste job.

A woman over 40 will never wake you in the middle of the night to ask, "What are you thinking?" She doesn't care what you think.

If a woman over 40 doesn't want to watch the game, she doesn't sit around whining about it. She does something she wants to do. And, it's usually something more interesting.

A woman over 40 knows herself well enough to be assured in who she is, what she is, what she wants and from whom. Few women past the age of 40 give a damn what you might think about her or what she's doing.

Women over 40 are dignified. They seldom have a screaming match with you at the opera or in the middle of an expensive restaurant. Of course, if you deserve it, they won't hesitate to shoot you, if they think they can get away with it.

Older women are generous with praise, often undeserved. They know what it's like to be unappreciated.

A woman over 40 has the self-assurance to introduce you to her women friends. A younger woman with a man will often ignore even her best friend because she doesn't trust the guy with other women. Women over 40 couldn't care less if you're attracted to her friends because she knows her friends won't betray her.

Women get psychic as they age. You never have to confess your sins to a woman over 40. They always know.

A woman over 40 looks good wearing bright red lipstick. This is not true of younger women.

Once you get past a wrinkle or two, a woman over 40 is far sexier than her younger counterpart.

Older women are forthright and honest. They'll tell you right off if you are a jerk if you are acting like one! You don't ever have to wonder where you stand with her.

And over 50? Hey! We just keep getting better and better!

Hi Ann,

Damn straight!

And being over 40 means your not afraid to tell your age either--I'm 45.

Keep cool, and if you go to S.F. I hope you and the girls and your son, and who ever else goes with--have a good time.

I think that women over 40 are great and over 50, well over 50.

I like that part about women over 40 not caring what you think. SO TRUE! Not only that, if it's going to take you more than 2 minutes to tell me, Mr., go write a summary and come back. And about having something to do that is more interesting--YES! Like blogging too much. Ha.

I don't know if you've tried this for the heat, but I have 2 suggestions that I do. Spray bottle of water by the bed with a fan going on me. Or an old thin beach towel wetted and wrung out laying on me with the fan going.

Also I loved the ditty about the older women. I'm gonna send it to all my friends over 40, 50, 60, 70 & 80! Cathee

Hi Ann ~~ These are good, but wonder what they have to do about adoption?
I agree we get better and better and dare anyone to argue. I have had five visitors, so haven't had a lot of time to read for a few days. Cheers, Merle.
