I Took Yesterday Off

I really did. We were all a little rundown and spent most of the day lying around. I went after milk but that was about it. I know we ate but I'm not sure what. Nobody starved. I was in bed very early for me.

Ray came home from hospital late this morning. He seems okay. They say bronchial pneumonia plus a kidney infection this time. He has a 15 day supply of sulfa to get through in addition to his regular meds.

Tim and I met for lunch without the girls. I needed to get away, at least for an hour or two.

More snacking around for meals. There's no point cooking a full meal that no one wants because of the heat. I will tomorrow though just to celebrate Ray being home.

I can't find my camera. It has to be here someplace and I'll keep looking. Our neighbor two doors up just finished doing Rochelle and Rebecca's hair in tight braids. They look cute.

The last time someone did that for them Rebecca had half of them pulled out by the next morning. Rochelle was fine. Maybe now that Rebecca is older she'll have more patience. She likes the look but not sleeping on them.

And I'm yawning already. No nap today which was fine. I'll make it to bed earlier.

Short post. Just wanted to share the good news for a change.

Mollie - Giants pulled out a squeaker against the Dodgers.

Take care everyone.

YEAHHHHHHHHH! Good News! Ray's home.

I had my hair braided ONCE. I had to go into the hospital with a recovery of 12 weeks soooooo I had to get my hair braided. Note to self: Take an advil BEFORE getting hair braided. OUCH.

I'm sure they look really cute though. I think I'm with you Granny, I'm off to bed. Bloglines tells me I have 6 posts of yours to read. What am I doing wrong? I'm sure I've been to your blog more often than that. I'm slacking. Sorry.

Hello Ann ~~ So glad to hear that Ray is home and I bet he is glad too.
The girls' hair sounds good fun for them. It was good you had an early
night and I really must try to do that. Can't seem to manage it.
I will be glad of any jokes you send, but don't worry too much about it.
Is it OK to thank you on the posts? Or would you prefer me not to?
Take care, and love to all, Merle.

Glad to hear Ray is home. I would advise against cooking in such heat but I totally understand a small home coming meal for Ray.

I can't wait to see pictures of the braided hair. I've never had my hair braided but I heard of the discomfort especially for a couple of days after it's done. I'm just not brave enough. Too drastic a change for me. I'm such a bore. I'm sure if my hair was not manageable I'd be saying something else.

Glad to have something to read. I was checking and checking for a new post from you :-) It's always so fun to read

Yay! He's home!

I'm so relieved, and also thankful that they had a diagnosis of the problem. Hopefully the medicine will clear it up and he'll feel better.

We all need to take a day out once in a while. No shame in it.

Bet the girls look great.

Hope you find your camera soon.

Yay! Happy dance! Ray is home! And really, so glad they actually found a treatable problem. Not that pneumonia or a kindey infection is good, but antibiotics should knock that right out.

Can't wait until you find your camera--I bet the girls look cute with the braids. But I know they'd give me a headache. I can't even have a ponytail too tight!

Glad to hear you got some rest.

I'm glad to hear that Ray's home, too. If I was In Charge, I'd make sure you had a peaceful, healthy summer, a touch on the cool side rather than otherwise. I wish someone would vote me In Charge!

I hope that Ray (and you) can have a nice long rest from hospitals. How great would that be?

Our summer is still being cooler than usual, and I'm still not complaining.

Poor Ray! I'm glad he's home. Sounds like you got some needed rest, Gran.

Hi Ann, glad to hear that Ray is home, hope it's for a long while this time.
Also good that you are getting some rest, I hate the heat so much and try to do as little cooking as possible when it's hot.
With Walter away I haven't got the fire going even though it is only 8 degrees C.
and I am enjoying it.

Really happy to hear that you took it easier and that Ray is home. I'm not eating as much and certainly not cooking as much in the heat.
Today is a little cooler so I will go and start the bread machine for non gluten bread for my daughter in a few minutes.
Take care, wishing Ray a quick recovery and that you find your camera so we can see the braids!

My Mom used to do my hair in French braids. They were so tight I could barely open my mouth! They lasted days..
Glad Ray is home, doing better and that you had a restful day...

Your man is home. Yay! Hopefully for a good long time.

Yes, how nice would that be for the two of you never to have the see the inside of a hospital for the rest of the summer? Crossing my fingers... But glad that he can take something to get better.

Yes, yes, we want a picture of the braids!

I always seem to be a day late posting my comment on your blog! lol Glad to hear Ray is home and here's hoping the meds will help him and that he's home for good. Just the trips to the hospitals can be tiring, especially in such heat. As for meals, no one is hungry for big meals when it's so hot. Glad you were able to get away for a quiet lunch with Tim! I used to have my hair done up in French Braids quite often and I remember my scalp hurting!! I still have long hair but keep it in a ponytail or just loose now. Take care Ann and know that I'm thinking of you!!

Glad Ray is home! When you're rested, will you come get me and take me home?!?! lol

Whaaaaaaaaa ! Even my blogger ID picture shows how homesick I am ;)

You should see the inside of my mom's apartment, you almost can't tell she's ever left Yosemite there are so many pictures of it.

Gawdessness, if you don't mind me asking ... why are you making gluten free bread? Asking because my mom has Celiac Sprue.

Hi Ann,

I'm so glad That Ray is home!

But pnemonia this time of the year? Isn't that kind of unusual? Did he get it when he was in the hospital the last time?

When my brother was in the hospital for lukemia he got pnemoia, and he said the hospital is get place to pick up the germs that cause that!
