Yes, I Know It's a Hallmark Holiday

I still think we grandparents have earned our very own day.

Happy Grandparents' Day to all of you!!

Update:

Just heard from one of my Australian friends. This day is celebrated only in American so far as I know. Here's the history.

And a Happy Grandparent's Day to you!

I'll be putting up my Grandparent's Day post later this afternoon--it requires an interview with my children and they're currently napping... :-)

Happy grandparents` day, Granny!

I would call you my honorary granmother (since one of my natural grandmas is dead and the other is in an advanced state of dementia) but.... well, you seem more like a friend my own age.

Funny, how that works sometimes.

Most of all, to you, Ann! Some people just enjoy the easier parts of grandparenting- the occasional visit, special outings, treats. But you do it all and with class and style and lots of love. Enjoy the day!

Other's are right... you don't seem like a grandparent... does that mean you get two celebratory days, one for your mother duties too?

I haven't seen any Grandparent Day mentions here in Oz - perhaps I haven't looked?

We haven't heard about it either here. But then again, we don't have kids to celebrate the grand parents part...

And no that lady didn't get what the butcher had said... She obviously needs help with her math. ;-)

Hee hee... I live next door to Expat... well, one province over and about 1200 KM apart! I must echo what she's said, and in addition wish you well on Grandparent's Day. I was celebrating today with MY parents who in fact are grandparents thanks to my sister. They celebrated their 40th. Wedding Anniversary and today we shared a slideshow with some very special friends. I will post about it very shortly and may even throw some photos up to share!

Hello Ann ~~ A very Happy Grandparents
Day to you. We don't have that here YET
I just left another update on Herons Nest as Peter put the 2nd Update on and had added an "s" after merle. I have corrected it. Must see if it is the same on Third Try. Love to you and the family
and I hope all the grandparents have a great day. Take care, Merle.

Happy Grandparent's Day!!

I sent my in-laws and e-card from the grandkids last night (so they'd get it this morning) and we all called them this morning.

I DON'T CARE if it's a "Hallmark Holiday". It counts, it's valid, it's worthwile, and hell, it's DESERVED.

Hi Ann,

Happy Grand-parents day to you, Ray, and Carol too!

Too bad there isn't a great-grandparents day as well! But I guess that's just around the corner.

I posted a 9-11 poem on my Lady Jan's home blog, and I invite everyone reading this to come and read my poem and leave there 9-11 thoughts.

Thank you, Janice~

Hello Ann ~ Tanks for your comment on mt 9/11 tribute. It was so awful that
so many died needlessly, I guess there were many like Cantor Fitzgrald, who lost their entire office staff. And the company of Marsh and McLennan losing 300 staff is almost unbelievable. Such a tragedy. Take care Ann, Hugs, Merle.

Happy Grandparents' day to you Ann. No we don't have that here, but no doubt we will eventually.

Five years since 9/11. What an awful day that was.

Take care of yourself.

Hugs

Robyn
