Breast Cancer Awareness

Our friend Merle in Australia sent me this message:

Please tell ten friends to tell ten today! The Breast Cancer site is having trouble getting enough people to click on their site daily to meet their quota of donating at least one free mammogram a day to an underprivileged woman. It takes less than a minute to go to their site and click on "donating a mammogram" for free (pink window in the middle).

This doesn't cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate mammogram in exchange for advertising.

I don't do a lot of personal email outside of my blogging friends so doing it as a chain letter wouldn't work too well. I'd rather spread the word here and ask you to pass it along.

Please click on this site to help provide free mammograms to the poor.

Granny,
I made their sister site (Literacy Site) my home page, so I remember to visit. The first thing you do when you open your browser is click on your button and you are good to go for the day!

If someone can't figure out how to change their home page when they open up their browser, email me and I will be glad to help!

Thanks for the link Ann,though mammograms OUCH!

I lost my Grandmother to breast cancer and hope that our clicking through will help a family somewhere.

Love and best wishes to you Ann, it's raining here today so I'm hoping to catch up with blog friends and naturally began with you :>)

Love and best wishes

puke on blogger for eating my attempt at a comment. I'll try and say it again, and hopefully I can get the audio version of the word verf to work so I can actually post this. Damn spammers. Oh well, at least I can do the audio version of that word verf graphic.

Anyway, like I tried to say before, that's a cool idea, although I wish each click gave a mammogram. I guess it's about 45000 clicks that will donate one mammogram, according to snopes. http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/charity/mammogram.asp but I guess that's more reason for more of us to click. Allrighty, hopefully that woman will read aloud the numbers in the picture this time so I can actually get this up there. Arg spammers...have I mentioned how much I hate them?

I love reading your posts...I've re-vamped my blog and thought I did so well, but some of my links aren't working right...in the meantime, I'll click away on the breast cancer page for the friends that can't get there through me!!!

Great post, Ann. I got Merle's email and clicked immediately. Too many women, especially young women, are getting breast cancer. So a click a day should go towards helping those that can't afford the cost of a mammogram. We're lucky in Australia, we have the BreastScreen programme where mammograms are free to women over 50.

Thanks for the message. My three close friends are all survivors of breast cancer.
