How's Your Spelling?

Your Spelling is Perfect

You got 10/10 correct.

Your spelling is excellent. You also have a great memory and eye for detail.

I admit I guessed at one of the words and I was glad it was multiple choice - I didn't have to actually spell them. I always have problems with the word mispellmisspell.

Thanks to "J" at Thinking About for this one.

We have our first rosebud on one of the climbers. Had to transplant the small bush; I don't think it was getting enough sun underneath my window. I hope we got to it in time. It was looking rather forlorn. The tomato plants are growing - I'm still waiting for the first tomato.

The Easter dinner went off without a hitch except I cooked far too much food, even allowing for the amount my son can put away all by himself. Tomorrow I'll make spread/salad out of some of the ham and freeze the rest until later.

To those who left comments about the "menu" and the amount of work, much of the food came from boxes and cans this time rather than scratch. I didn't have the time, energy, or ingredients on hand to do a lot of last minute preparation. My sweet potato casserole is better than Betty Crocker's (even after I doctored it up) but it was okay. The music did help although I decided Beethoven (Emperor Concerto) might be a little much.

Tim and I met for coffee earlier today; his treat since he wasn't working. I came home to a phone call from the Social Worker. She was in the area with the girls. They stopped by for a few minutes so I was able to give them some of the things they'd asked about. It was so good to see them and I think it was good for them to see Ray and our little house. We keep telling them we're fine but better they could see for themselves. It was one of the best surprises we've had in a long time.

Our weather continues to be lovely. The forecast calls for rain this weekend but that's normal for March and April. We're far more fortunate than much of the country which is still digging out from blizzards and floods.

Bloglines is still acting up and so is Blogger, at least for me. I think I've gotten around to most of you but it's difficult to tell who has new posts and who doesn't. Blogger is being stubborn about comments sometimes but at least I can keep up with what you're doing.

For anyone out there who is also a Facebook friend. I'm not ignoring you. I lost my password in the great computer crash. I'll get a new one - just keep forgetting to do it. Meantime, thanks for thinking of me with the Superpokes, etc.

Other than that, not much is new. I'm waiting for baseball season to start. The American League played their first game today from Tokyo (started at 3:00 a.m. our time) but the Giants don't open until next Monday.

Take care everyone and thanks for the visits.

Your Spelling is Perfect
Show off!:) I only got 8/10, and it doesn't tell me which ones I missed!!!! Now I'll be awake all night trying to figure it out!

I proofread a lot of my wife's papers, too (Gulp!). I thought I was pretty good. "Pride goeth before.....":)

I know my spelling has deteriorated - it's an age thing - but I keep my OED to hand. It must have been great for you and the girls to see each other.
I'm avoiding facebook as I don't think I could cope with anything else. It takes me all my time to keep visiting cyber friends.

Did you put your recipe up on your recipe blog? Sweet potatoes..yumm.

I have trouble with misspell too. Spell check is making me lazy, I think. :)

What kind of tomatoes are you growing? I'm contemplating which ones to grow.

Good Evening Ann,
I took the Spelling Test and here is what it said about mine:
Your Spelling is Good

You got 8/10 correct.

Your spelling is generally pretty decent. You are prone to a few mistakes, but the mistakes you make are pretty forgivable.

I guess that's pretty good for a slang talkin' southerner. LOL. I'm glad your Easter Dinner went well. It's always better to have some leftover than not have enough. I can't believe you are already waiting on Tomatoes. I do love fresh garden tomatoes. I don't like the ones you buy in the store in the Winter months because I can tell they have been frozen. I bet it was nice to see the girls and I know you really enjoyed seeing them. We are suppose to get some rain on Friday and then possibly some heavy rains again on Monday and then the possibility of Severe Weather as well. We sure don't need anymore heavy rains. Our girls softball season starts this weekend. They are both in Pre-Season Tournaments. That is if it don't rain on Friday. We will have to wait and see what it does. Take care my friend and have a great evening. May God Bless You and Yours.

Karen

At one time my spelling was excellent. Then I became dependent upon spellcheckers.

May I borrow some sunshine from your weather? Like soon?

Here's mine;
You got 7/10 correct.

Your spelling is a bit of a problem. Your instincts on how to spell things aren't horrible, but you often make an embarrassing mistake or two.

Yikes!

I'm glad you had a nice visit with the girls, and they got to see your house.

Hi Ann
I got 9/10 :(
Want to know which one I missed though!

My spelling was perfect too! Although, I think I had a bit of an unfair advantage. JAWS loudly butchered up the sound of some words, which was my first clue that they were the wrong choice. But it didn't do that to all of them, so it's not all because of JAWS. Grins. Glad you had a good easter. You're always so busy.

Ann, I haven't taken the spelling test yet but I will before I go. I'm so tired right now, I can hardly keep my eyes open....I've been pulling a couple of very late nights while working on my taxes, but that is done for now....YEA! My refrigator decided to die last week and I had to go out and buy a new one. Most of the meat in the freezer was beyond saving but we filled five ice chests with frig food. I am so glad that is done too. You know the old saying, "When it rains, it pours." It sure felt like that last week. (Our tomatoes are in the ground too.)

Talk to ya later, Lucy

Dear Ann ~~ I am so happy that the social worker brought the girls to see you and Ray and your house, and
I am sure they enjoyed seeing you as well as you and Ray did them. Lovely surprise. Bad luck about your Easter plans and hope the friends are better now. You did very well with your very
hurried meal which sounded yummy. I
got misspell wrong as I only used one s. Oh well, not too bad.
Thank you so very much Ann for keeping my niece Vicki in your thoughts. Still no news about her op - I hope it is soon and all goes well. Take care dear friend, Much
love, Merle.

I got 9/10 - it would probably be worse if I had not learned a lot from spell check. :) Wow - tomatoes already growing - it's still a little cool to plant here yet. So glad you folks got to see the girls. ec
