I managed to pick up either a very bad cold or the flu to celebrate the end of 2006 and spent most of today in bed. Elcie seems to have it too but everyone else is okay and I probably will be by tomorrow.
She and I went to see Carol yesterday and then to lunch. By the time we got home, all I could do is crawl into bed. Today my friend took the girls for a while which helped and Ray has been a real trooper.
They received one more Christmas present in the mail. An "anonymous" Canadian friend sent them each a t-shirt and hat emblazoned with maple leaves (leafs?). They love them. I already emailed her but thank you anonymous friend.
I bought 2 bottles of Martinelli's sparkling cider yesterday and some fancy plastic champagne glasses in anticipation of the New Year's celebration. Now let's see if any of us stay awake that long. The girls like it because it bubbles and looks so festive. We'll have a toast at midnight and perhaps I can remember to take a picture.
Thanks to all of you who visited the Ceran Memorial page. I noticed several familiar names and I'm sure the family appreciates your kindness as do I.
And thanks for being my loyal friends this past year. I love hearing from all of you and reading about your lives. May 2007 bring you happiness, love, and peace.
Ann

So sorry and selfish of me Granny. Hope you're feeling better soon, real soon!
Hi Ann,
You too, and may God bless you and your family this new year.
Janice~
Haven't been around much... New day, new year and all, I thought maybe now is a good time to poke my head out of my shell.
Gosh, am I tired. I think everyone is. What is this insanity we call "the holidays", anyway?
I won't get into it, but cold and flu are going around here as well. Dad got the flu Christmas morning. I spoke with him on the phone today since their wing has been quarenteened for flu. He's fine... and I never thought I'd be thankful for his memory loss. He doesn't REMEBER missing Christmas, or being sick. And he was sick as a dog. What does that mean, anyway? "Sick as a dog"... any ideas on its origin?
Happy 2007 to you and all.
Happy New Year to you and yours, dear Ann! I'm so glad our paths crossed in this big wide world of blogging and I so look forward to future posts and comments:-)I haven't had much time to visit and comment these last few weeks but now that the holidays are over, I'm hoping to get back to my old regular routine!! Loved seeing the pictures of the girls opening their presents:-) Much love xoxo
The same to you dear friend...stay well and Happy New Year!!

Hey Ann,
Happy new year to you too. I didn't win the Florida Raffle, so I guess I have to go back to work.
Get well soon.
Ginny
Hey, Ginny
Did you buy a ticket? I've been told it helps.
Happy New Year!
A very good new year to you and yours, Ann. You're a trooper. I hope you're better soon.
Happy New Year Ann! I hope you and Elci are up and feeling better soon. Dr. Man was sick during our entire stay in Florida. They think it was pneumonia. Anyway, some antibiotics, Mucinex, tylenol, vitamin c and rest seem to have really helped out a lot and he is slowly starting to feel like himself again. Have you ever heard of and tried thyme tea? Two of my Aunts swear by and made Dr. Man some while we were in Florida. You just put some water and thyme (a few tablespoons) in a pot, bring it to a boil, then strain it. Sweeten to tast. I don't know if its the wonder tonic that they claim it is, but hey it could be worth a shot. Take care and get plenty of rest.
I hope you are feeling better now. We had some sort of crud here a couple weeks ago and it was horrible!
Wishing you and your family a wonderful New Year.

hope you're feeling better already.
Ann, thank YOU for your everything you bring into our lives. your support and advice through your Blogging Baby comments have helped me so much, so many times.
happy new year.
Well I hope that 2007 you aren't starting with a cold. Get better and Happy New Year. I think everyone ended the year with a cold; something is going around.
Carmen
boy Ann, the flu does not sound too good, though if you think you'll feel better tomorrow, then it probably isn't! For future reference; there is this homeopathic thing called, rats..forgot the name and it is in my mom's/guest bedroom and she's asleep..I have to get this to you later, apparently, this stuff is really good and helps you get over the flu in about three days! We were all having colds over christmas, myself and the kids and my husband as well.(one kid ear infection in both ears) So it's a good thing the christmas holiday lasts for two weeks, at least we have one week where we can have a relaxed holiday.
hope you and Elcie feel better tomorrow!
hugs
Ingrid
Dear Ann ~~ I hope you are better by now. No fun being unwell anytime.
Glad the girls had a great Christmas and that Ray is well and being a trooper.
Glad that Carol is comfortable at the hospice and hospital and glad you and Ray could take her out to shop a little.
Waiting to hear how she is, as well as how you and Elcie are. Love, Merle
