Do Not Call List

My fellow Americans.

If you haven't already done this, now would be a good time. It's bad enough to have one's dinner interrupted by snake oil salesmen without being charged for the privilege. It doesn't help to not answer the phone because with many of the cell phone systems, voice mail (receving and listening) all keep the clock on your "minutes" ticking.

This should never have happened but it did. You can find out more here

REMINDER...About Jan. 1, all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies and you will start to receive sale Calls…YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS, To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone: 888-382-1222. It is the National DO NOT CALL list. It will only take a Minute of your time. It blocks your number for five (5) years.

Unbelievable! I should check what the situation is in Canada.

Are you really sure? I'm so nervous that in filling out the form I would actually be GIVING my number to a telemarketer.

Ugg...

it's not that I don't trust you, but I'm still so anxious.

We have no such thing yet in Canada, but they're working on it. I really hope it happens soon!

(for those concerned, I know many people who have used it -Americans- and it really works)

are you sure it's not actually a trick to get all your cell phones? maybe they started the rumor about the calling, then they set up this "do not call list" and that way they could be sure to get your number...............

i'm paranoid

Good heads up, Granny!

I have done sales calls before and cell phones were never available. It was only a matter of time..sigh.

You can also block a number or check a number online at the Do Not Call Registry. It's government site. It also handles complaints woohoo!

Huh.....lately we've have a barage of calls on the home phone and a few on my cell phone. You know it and know that the computer is dialing because when you ick up there is a second or 2 of dead silence. Sometimes I mess with them but I've had som aggressive ladies calling here over the past 3 weeks to the point I'ce simply had to hang up. It's horrible.

Trying to catch up after the holiday madness. I've missed reading your blog
